Meet Tanya Sethi
A proud Milton resident. A community builder. A voice for Ward 2.
For Tanya Sethi, Milton is more than where she lives - it’s the community she is proud to call home. As the town continues to evolve, Tanya believes Ward 2 deserves thoughtful, responsive leadership that listens to residents and puts their priorities at the heart of local decision-making.
Her Story
Rooted in Milton
Tanya Sethi moved to Milton with her family several years ago, after already having worked in the community and developed a connection to the area. Through years of involvement in federal and provincial politics, Tanya has spent considerable time listening to residents and understanding the issues affecting their everyday lives, while gaining firsthand insight into how different levels of government operate, how funding decisions are made, and the importance of strong relationships between municipal, provincial and federal governments when advocating for Milton.
Now, she is ready to bring that experience closer to home. Tanya believes meaningful change often begins at the grassroots level - by listening to residents, understanding their priorities, and making sure their voices are represented where local decisions are made. With an educational background in law, including an LL.B. and ongoing postgraduate legal studies, Tanya brings a strong ability to read, analyze and interpret legislation, policies and municipal by-laws. Her professional experience in banking and finance has also given her a practical understanding of budgets, financial accountability and the importance of making responsible decisions with limited resources.
Her experience working within and alongside federal and provincial politics gives Tanya an understanding of how different levels of government operate, how funding decisions are made, and why strong relationships between municipal, provincial and federal governments matter when advocating for a growing community like Milton. Tanya is running for Ward 2 because she believes residents deserve a councillor who will listen first, do the homework, ask the right questions, and be a strong voice for the community at Town Hall.
